Latest London Mayor's Office for Police and Crime Industrial Action Updates (2)

Members of a union working for the London Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime initially received a pay increase offer of 1.5% from the employer.

Following pressure, the employer increased the offer to 2%, which is still below the 4.1% claim and inflation, effectively being a real-terms pay cut.

This revised offer is noted as being one of the lowest pay rises across the London public sector.

Workers conducted four days of industrial action in January, but subsequent meetings have resulted in no significant new offers from the employer.

Consequently, members have decided to resume further industrial action.

The scheduled walkouts for the workers are planned for February 24th, 25th, and 26th.

Staff believe that maintaining London's safety requires adequate funding, and employees should earn enough to reside in the city where they are employed.

Industrial action is set to include rallies for striking members outside City Hall on the mornings of each strike day, targeting members of the London Assembly.

Almost 100 members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union say they will walk out on 20-22 and 25-26 September.

The union said the workers had received a 7% pay rise but were angry not to be given a £1,500 one-off cost-of-living crisis payment offered to civil servants.
