NHS Consultants (BMA) Strike Calendar

Consultants in England have indicated a willingness to strike due to concerns over working conditions and pay following the results of an eight-week ballot.

A mandate for potential future strikes was established after 76 per cent of voters favored the option for industrial action, with a 51.5 per cent turnout.

The ballot ran from May 11th to July 6th, granting consultants in England the ability to take strike action if progress on improving pay and conditions stalls in negotiations.

A separate ballot for specialist, associate specialist, and specialty doctors in England showed 90 per cent support for industrial action among participants.

However, this second ballot did not reach the 50 per cent turnout threshold legally required for industrial action, although these regulatory requirements are expected to change soon.
