Idverde (GMB) Strike Calendar

Gardeners at London's Royal Parks are participating in a strike ballot organized by their union following a dispute over pay. The workers, employed by a sub-contractor, maintain several prestigious green spaces across the city. The disagreement began when skilled gardeners and team leaders were offered a pay increase of only 70 pence per hour.

This offer narrows the wage gap between senior staff and those earning the London Living Wage to just 55 pence. Union members previously voted heavily in favor of strike action during a consultative ballot. The current ballot is scheduled to close on Friday, 14 August. Workers argue that the proposed increase is insufficient to cope with the rising cost of living in the capital.
