National Galleries of Scotland (PCS) Strike Calendar

Union members at the National Galleries of Scotland are planning four days of strike action during the Edinburgh Fringe. This action is in response to unilaterally imposed changes to the staffing model for gallery attendants and a lack of consultation. These changes are reported to negatively affect staff wellbeing, break times, and support for disabled employees. The adjustments could also lead to exhibition closures due to low staffing levels.

Alongside the strikes, staff will engage in action short of a strike, which includes working to rule and refusing to wear uniforms. A rally is scheduled for the first day of the strike at the National Gallery on Edinburgh Mound. Picket lines will also be held on several mornings throughout August.
