Latest V&A Industrial Action Updates (2)

Prospect has won its dispute with V&A over Collections Access workers at a storehouse site. The dispute arose because workers lacked time to use the toilet or drink water. Members had voted to take strike action after V&A refused to grant two paid breaks a day. V&A has now changed its policy and granted the requested breaks.

However, members are still set to strike over wider issues regarding pay, terms, and conditions. The PCS union is also balloting its members for strike action.

Union members working as collections access officers at a museum storehouse site have voted unanimously for strike action due to a dispute over working conditions. The workers are requesting two paid breaks a day to allow time for toilet breaks and hydration during their shifts. Despite a collective grievance being raised on the matter, the museum has not agreed to this request, which is already granted to staff in other departments.

In addition, union members across all of the museum's sites have voted to take industrial action over a wider dispute. This wider dispute involves demands for a pay increase, bank holiday premium pay, and becoming an accredited London Living Wage employer. The scheduling and details of the upcoming industrial action will be determined in due course.
