Latest East Midlands Railway Industrial Action Updates (2)
RMT has suspended planned strike action at East Midlands Railway scheduled for 16 and 17 September following movement from management regarding faulty Class 810 fleet trains.
However, action short of strike action due to begin on 20 September 2026 remains in place conditionally if unsolicited brake applications occur.
RMT members at East Midlands Railway are taking 48-hour strike action starting 30 August over safety concerns and train faults on Class 810 units. Ongoing action short of a strike is also taking place, with members instructed to refuse to work trains with faults including air conditioning failures, door issues, and non-working toilets.
A further 24-hour strike is planned for 16 September if improvements to safety and operations are not made.
