University of Aberdeen (UCU) Strike Calendar

A strike ballot has opened at the University of Aberdeen, raising the prospect of industrial action. The dispute concerns planned job cuts, the refusal by management to rule out compulsory redundancies, and a lack of consultation with the union. The dispute is also linked to the dismissal of a long-standing union representative, with allegations of victimisation for trade union activities. Members are being balloted on strike action as well as action short of strike, including working to contract, refusing to cover for absent colleagues, and a potential marking boycott.
