The University of Brighton informed the UCU branch that it plans to terminate its current recognition agreement and all collective agreements from June next year. The union stated this could lead to full derecognition and worsening terms and conditions for staff.
UCU condemned the university's decision to remove the rights of staff to a recognised union and announced plans to protest at the TUC Congress in Brighton.
