Latest University of Sunderland Industrial Action Updates (1)
University of Sunderland staff represented by UCU have voted to enter a formal dispute following a branch meeting. The dispute centres on university plans to reduce the operating budget by £40m through cuts to staff and non-staff costs.
The union also raised concerns over a decision to employ new academic tutors through a subsidiary company without access to the Teachers' Pension Scheme. The union has warned that industrial action may occur unless management negotiates to protect jobs.
