Latest Apache Industrial Action Updates (2)

Over 160 offshore workers at Apache have voted in favour of strike action in a dispute over pay. The dispute follows a rejected pay offer involving pay freezes and below-inflation increases, alongside threats to withhold back pay.

Strike action could begin this month across seven Apache assets associated with the Forties and Beryl oil fields, including the Charlie platform. The union warns that industrial disruption could potentially impact the Forties Pipeline System, which transports a significant proportion of the UK's oil and gas.

The workers involved include electrical, instrument, mechanical, and production technicians, as well as telecoms technicians and radio operators.

Unite is balloting approximately 160 offshore workers employed by North Sea operator Apache on strike action. The dispute concerns below-inflation pay offers, pay freezes, and deadlines set for reaching agreements over backpay.

The ballot covers workers across seven Apache assets linked to the Forties and Beryl oil fields. The ballot opens on 3 September 2026 and closes on 1 October 2026, with strike action potentially beginning by mid-October.
