Health Services Laboratory (UNITE) Strike Calendar

Pathology staff at laboratories across London are to take strike action over pay and grading it was announced today, severely impacting operations at seven London hospitals. Over 800 Unite members employed by Health Services Laboratory (and sister company The Doctors' Laboratory) are taking three days of strike action on 3, 4 and 5 September. Staff at the HSL laboratories who conduct blood, skin, and tissue tests for two London healthcare trusts are furious over the lack of transparency in their grading. This means staff are often doing the work of more senior colleagues without being properly paid or doing the same job as other colleagues and being paid different rates.
