Continuous strike action at Hovis scheduled to begin on 24 September has been called off following last-minute pay talks.
Around 60 distribution drivers at the Avonmouth site in Bristol were due to take action over pay.
The industrial action has been paused to allow workers to vote on a new pay offer from the company.
Approximately 60 Hovis distribution drivers based at the Avonmouth site in Bristol are set to strike indefinitely starting Thursday 24 September. The continuous strike action is expected to cause bread shortages across retail outlets in the South West and the West Midlands.
The dispute centers on a three per cent pay offer, which workers consider a real-terms pay cut compared to inflation. Bristol workers are also seeking the same commission and holiday premium enhancements that were offered to staff at the Belfast depot.
