Latest Ministry of Defence Industrial Action Updates (2)

A dozen civil servants working as VIP chauffeur drivers at the Ministry of Defence have renewed strike action over workplace treatment, management practices, and leadership accountability. The decision follows a breakdown in talks after planned industrial action was suspended in July to facilitate discussions.

Strikes are scheduled to take place on 6 and 7 October, followed by a second wave on 13 and 14 October 2026, with picket lines stationed outside the Ministry of Defence Main Building in Westminster.

Planned strike action by drivers at the Ministry of Defence has been suspended following last-minute concessions by the employer.

The dispute arose over a breakdown in workplace relations, but talks have resumed with a commitment to address long-standing issues. The union agreed to suspend industrial action as a goodwill gesture while negotiations continue, though strikes remain an option if commitments are not met.
