Latest NEU Industrial Action Updates (2)
Unite members in the National Education Union (London Region) are fighting back against bullying and misogyny and will be taking industrial action on 10 and 11 February 2026. Unite reps raised the issue of bullying and misogyny with management in August 2025. This followed members raising grievances which went unheard and many staff have subsequently left the union. This includes six out of nine women field workers who left after raising complaints about bullying from their male line managers.
This exodus of skilled and committed staff, a symptom of bullying, has resulted in a significant shortfall in staffing and severely impacted the ability of existing workers to service NEU members and further compounding the issues of poor management and an unhealthy workplace.
Staff at the National Education Union (NEU) are to strike on 5 November over the impact on staff workloads caused by a poorly handled restructure, as well as unresolved issues around downgrading. This sixth day of action follows strike days in July and September. Workers at the NEU are members of the Unite trade union. While Unite reps have sought to reach agreement with the NEU, management has proved unwilling to compromise or offer a way forward on outstanding issues of staff downgrading. At the same time, staff want firmer guarantees on workloads to remedy clearly identified issues around staff capacity.
