Latest Taylor Wimpey Industrial Action Updates (1)
Unite has criticised housebuilder Taylor Wimpey for firing and rehiring construction workers in the North East. Dismissal notices were issued to 31 joiners and 19 scaffolders to reduce bonus pay by over 30 per cent.
Workers were issued termination notices on 1 October and required to sign them by 7 October to be re-employed on inferior contracts. Unite has stated it is considering all options, including industrial action, to challenge the decision.
