Wincanton (UNITE) Strike Calendar

Over 100 lorry drivers employed by Wincanton on the Sainsbury's contract in the South West are being balloted on strike action over low pay. Workers have been in negotiations since March and rejected a four per cent pay offer, noting they earn 14 per cent less than colleagues performing the same role at the Basingstoke depot.

Alongside pay parity, union members are seeking a 30-minute paid break, time-and-a-half pay for rest day working, and banked hours paid at time and a half. The ballot is open and runs until 4 November, with potential strike action threatening deliveries across November and December.
