Resort Safety Officers at Butlin’s Bognor Regis are planning multiple strike actions over the August Bank Holiday weekend and throughout September. These walkouts are scheduled to transition into continuous strike action starting on September 21 unless a resolution is reached. The workers are calling for urgent meetings between management and their union to negotiate a resolution.

The employees voted entirely in favour of strike action after raising concerns about understaffing, safety, faulty equipment, pay, and working conditions. Specific demands include recruiting additional permanent officers, ensuring reliable equipment, receiving a pay rise, and securing voluntary union recognition. This dispute occurs as the company celebrates its ninetieth anniversary and follows substantial reported pre-tax profits from 2024.
